Bindarray picnic area is closed due to road flooding. The Urumbilum river is experiencing high flows across the causeway, making crossing unsafe.
The river level will be monitored and the road reopened when safe.

Closed parks: Everlasting Swamp National Park closed due to wet weather
Everlasting Swamp National Park is closed from 9 May 2025 to 6 June 2025 due to extremely wet conditions. Weir Road which accesses the Park has deteriorated significantly due to the prolonged wet weather, access has been restricted to essential local traffic only.
This closure also prevents access to
- Sportsman Creek Canoe Trail
- Woody Creek Walking Trail

Closed areas: Closed roads due to Ex-tropical cyclone Alfred in New England National Park
Closed roads in New England National Park until 31 August due to Ex-tropical cyclone Alfred. Road blocks have been installed on the Horseshoe road to prevent vehicle movements at the Killikrankie Mountain Lookout intersection in the north and at Kilprotay road Intersection to the south. In addition, Kilprotay road has developed a natural road blockage about 3.5 km from the intersection with the Horseshoe road.
Two significant events have been identified, affecting the roading network in New England National Park:
- Horseshoe road – culvert blow out and undermining of road, no through access
- Kilprotay road – major landslip (~3.5km from the top intersection with the Horseshoe road), no through access
- Gaddes Ridge road - major landslip, no through access
These closures will remain in place until geohazard assessments can be undertaken and works completed. Penalties apply for non-compliance.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an aerial baiting program from Monday 12 May 2025 to Friday 23 May 2025. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of feral animals including wild dogs and foxes.
The program will take place in Avondale State Conservation Area (SCA), Back River Nature Reserve (NR), Booralong NR, Bulagaranda (Mt Yarrowyck) Aboriginal Area (AA), Cottan-Bimbang National Park (NP) & SCA, Curracubundi NP, Indwarra NP, Mummel Gulf NP & SCA, Ngulin NR, Nowendoc NP, Oxley Wild Rivers NP & SCA, Single NP, The Basin NR, Tomalla NR, Tuggolo Creek NR, Warrabah NP and Werrikimbe NP.
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise the impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Other planned events: Closure of Old Grafton Road
Clarence Valley Council are conducting extensive roadworks closing the Old Grafton Road (Old Glen Innes Road) between Newton Boyd and Buccarumbi. Access to Dalmorton campground is by the Old Grafton Road from the Glen Innes (Western) end only, or from Chaelundi Road from the south. To access Chaelundi Road you will need to either enter via Marengo Road at Hernani, or via Sheepstation Creek Road at Dundurrabin. These roads are only suitable for 4WD vehicles and off-road caravans.
Please be aware this closure may add significantly to travel time to and from the campground. At this stage works are scheduled until the end of June 2025.

The historic heritage village of Dalmorton will be closed to visitors from 8am Monday 20 January 2025. This closure is to allow for works to be undertaken on operational infrastructure within the village. Suttons road is closed to vehicle traffic following the second major pavement collapse in an area of highly dispersible soils. Alternate access is via Granite Pit or McMullens roads.
